You aren't the only ones living on Lavaland, there are other creatures who dwell deep within.

==== Non-sapient Wildlife ====
Welcome to Lavaland.

The usual, creatures going around killing you. If you want to learn about them, go [[Shaft Miner#The Wildlife|here]], but usually...

Hostile? Yes.

==== Podmen ====

[[File:Podman.png|40px]]
Podpeople are created by a mad <strike>scientist</strike> botanist, and they were sent into the cosmos to help other races. They crashed on Lavaland, and try to keep their spirits up, waiting for anything that won't kill them. They work in a pod with a basic setup for botany, but can not withstand the harsh outside.

==== Free Golems ====

[[File:Golem.png|40px]]
Golems left home after they were created by a mad <strike>botanist</strike> scientist, named the Liberator. He said wise words to the golems, to indicate their every move to this day: ''"Yeah, do whatever."'' They work inside a crashed shuttle and can create golems by using a lot of metal and 10 sheets of any refined ore after that.

==== Ashwalkers ====

'''Picture''' Ashwalkers are hunters, fighting for the Necropolis at the north of lavaland. They hunt the creatures, and the creatures
'''Needed''' hunt them. They are also mad that you guys are invading their homeworld so do not try to talk with them, they are hostile. They have a special necropolis tentacle that takes sacrifices and makes Ashwalker eggs in return.

=Hazards=
Lavaland is full of natural hazards. Ash Storms are the most prominent hazard, these storms occur on a regular basis and will deal constant and usually heavy burn damage to anyone unfortunate enough to be exposed to the storm, fortunately you will get a warning moments prior to a ash storm's arrival, giving you time to seek shelter.

==== Prisoners ====
Lava presents itself as the next most common hazard, walking into lava will deal massive burn damage to you. Even worse, the [[Shaft_Miner#The_Wildlife_-_Non-Sentient|wildlife]] are immune to lava and can wade freely into it. Lava is very obvious and thus easy to avoid, so you will rarely find yourself walking into it.

[[File:generic security.png|40px]]
The final threat are chasms, these are rare but extremely deadly and hard to spot. Walking into one will instantly kill you as you fall to your death! Watch your step.
Prisoners were going to a high security prison, where they keep the [[Traitor|worst]] [[Cult|of]] [[Wizard|the]] [[Changeling|worst]], for crimes unspoken, when suddenly, fate gave them a second chance. Next thing they knew, they were on a crashed ship, on a hostile moon, with only each other for help. Easily the hardest to survive, they have no tools and no way to heal, even the vets had an easier time.

Ash Storm Proof? No.
=Sentient Life=
Lavaland is surprisingly full of other sentient lifeforms, of varying hostility:
*[[Ashwalkers]], a tribe of hostile Lizardmen in [[Ruins#Ash_Walker_Nest|their nest]] that worship the nercopolis.
*Lifebringers, a peaceful group of podmen who live in a [[Ruins#Seed_Vault|seed vault]] with advanced hydroponics equipment.
*[[Golem#Free_Golems|Free Golems]], a band of neutral Golems who arrived [[Ruins#Free_Golem_Ship|by ship]] who live by their creed, of doing whatever.
*[[Ruins#Hermit|Stranded hermits]], a citizen of the Commonwealth of Orion turned into the bumbling hermit of the lavaland.
*Beach bums, humans who live in the shelter of a [[Ruins#Beach_Biodome|beach biodome]].
*Traveling Bard, have you ever heard that lovely strum in the great beyond? It is no hallucination, my friend.
*[[Ruins#Syndicate_Base|Syndicate Scientists]], a group of nerds, affiliated with the syndicate, who conduct tests on the most dangerous species in all known existence within a facility on the most dangerous planet in all known existence.

Additionally, bluespace crystals sometimes spawn on mining. These crystals can be used in various ways. Give them to science to increase bluespace science, hold onto them to use as a risk free jaunter, or throw them at people to make them teleport randomly (often into space.)

=== Other Classified Things ===

==== Loot ====

I'm not going to spoil all the riches and loot here, you have to discover it yourself, you buzzkill. No, really. Spoiling everything in Lavaland takes away from it's life. If everyone knows about everything in it, they will get bored/make a system, and the last thing we want is to have Lavaland be a system. I mean, it's randomly generated for chrisakes.

==== Necropolis ====

Somewhere, in the wastes of Lavaland, there is a great fortress. It wouldn't be wise to even attempt to enter, though [[Clown|no sane man would do that, right?]] Seriously, though, don't knock on the door of the Necropolis unless you want to die really fast. Like, almost instantly, really.

=== Additional Notes ===

<nowiki>*</nowiki>The reason I say maybe is because a lot of the stuff the miner has is to stay alive, and if the Prisoners want to survive, they need to get back to the station. Killing the miner would really help in that. - [[User:Armhulen|Armhulen]] ([[User talk:Armhulen|talk]]) 17:54, 13 May 2016 (UTC)

Lavaland

Lavaland is the primary workplace for Shaft Miners, usually accessed via the Mining Station.

Miners used to be set to work on an asteroid, however after exhausting all the minerals on the asteroid, Nanotrasen scoured space around the station for a new source of that sweet, sweet Plasma. They found a young planet almost completely covered in lava and a host of deadly creatures. Did we mention the ash storms? There are ash storms as well. Don't forget to grab a bluespace shelter capsule. You're definitely gonna want one of those. Should you get the chance to launch an emergency pod early, it will land randomly here.

Welcome to Lavaland.

Hazards

Lavaland is full of natural hazards. Ash Storms are the most prominent hazard, these storms occur on a regular basis and will deal constant and usually heavy burn damage to anyone unfortunate enough to be exposed to the storm, fortunately you will get a warning moments prior to a ash storm's arrival, giving you time to seek shelter.

Lava presents itself as the next most common hazard, walking into lava will deal massive burn damage to you. Even worse, the wildlife are immune to lava and can wade freely into it. Lava is very obvious and thus easy to avoid, so you will rarely find yourself walking into it.

The final threat are chasms, these are rare but extremely deadly and hard to spot. Walking into one will instantly kill you as you fall to your death! Watch your step.

Sentient Life

Lavaland is surprisingly full of other sentient lifeforms, of varying hostility:

  • Ashwalkers, a tribe of hostile Lizardmen in their nest that worship the nercopolis.
  • Lifebringers, a peaceful group of podmen who live in a seed vault with advanced hydroponics equipment.
  • Free Golems, a band of neutral Golems who arrived by ship who live by their creed, of doing whatever.
  • Stranded hermits, a citizen of the Commonwealth of Orion turned into the bumbling hermit of the lavaland.
  • Beach bums, humans who live in the shelter of a beach biodome.
  • Traveling Bard, have you ever heard that lovely strum in the great beyond? It is no hallucination, my friend.
  • Syndicate Scientists, a group of nerds, affiliated with the syndicate, who conduct tests on the most dangerous species in all known existence within a facility on the most dangerous planet in all known existence.

There are also non-sentient lifeforms, details of which can be found here.
