The lab that specializes in the study of alien lifeforms, such as Slimes and sometimes Xenomorphs. Expect the Scientists to fight over who gets to work here, as it's arguably the most fun.

North-east of the lab contains a number of useful items to assist xenobiologists in their studies; such as a WaterTank.png water tank, Xeno carrier closed.png xenological containment units and Plasmadone.png solid plasma sheets. Here there is also a disposals unit. This one is not paired with a containment pen - it leads straight into space, that way the lab rats can't escape into the disposal system. North-west of the lab is a more relaxed area with some Monkey Cube Box.png monkey cubes on the glass table, along with the slime storage, slime processor and monkey recycler.

Test Chamber

There is a chamber to the north, surrounded by electric windows and two layers of windoors. This chamber was built to be used for xenomorph experimentation and to secure other hostile creatures, but now-a-days it is commonly used as a larger slime pen. In the rare case of a xenomorph actually getting contained, there are a number of safety measures set in place. The electrified windows, in case they weren't secure enough, comes equipped with blast doors that are accessible from a button just outside the chamber. "But won't that stop me from seeing inside?" I hear you ask. The answer is no, there's a monitor for the chamber on a table next to the blast doors button. There is a BZ canister.png BZ canister over a connector port just outside the chamber. Wrench it in to flood the secure pen with gas. The final safety measure is the shield wall generators. When these are set up correctly, nothing you contain will be able to break through that. In case you wanted to feed whatever monster you have managed to contain, or simply give it items to observe its behavior with, there's a handy little disposal chute on the right side of the chamber that leads directly inside. In the center of the chamber is a Fulton beacon.png fulton retriever, used by Shaft Miners to send slimes from Lavaland.

The Slime Pens

The slime pens are to the south, and is where the xenobiologists will usually be working. At the start of the shift, this lab comes with two Slimegrey.png grey slimes in pens. There are eight pens in total with enough space to hold enough slimes to last the entire shift. Each pen comes equipped with electrified windows, a disposals chute and blast doors (much like the chamber to the north).

Kill Chamber

North of the slime pens is a kill chamber. This is linked to a freezer, which keeps the chamber at a dangerously low temperature at all times. Next to the disposals chute in the north-east of the lab are some winter clothes, to prevent crew from being killed alongside the slimes.

The Slime Pens

The slime pens are in the center of the lab, and is where the xenobiologists will usually be working. At the start of the shift, this lab comes with three Slimegrey.png grey slimes in pens. There are six pens in total with enough space to hold enough slimes to last the entire shift. Each pen comes equipped with electrified windows, a disposals chute and blast doors (much like the chamber to the west).

Kill Chamber

North-east of the slime pens is a kill chamber. This is linked to a freezer, which keeps the chamber at a dangerously low temperature at all times.
