Toxins Laboratory | |
The bomb factory. | |
Purpose: | To develop explosives for mining or for destroying the singularity if it happens to escape. |
Key items: | Six tank transfer valves, oxygen & plasma tank storage unit, two canisters, a bomb suit locker |
Workers: | Scientist, Research Director |
Access: | Captain, Research Director, Scientist |
Exits: | East to Starboard Maintenance and Starboard Quarter Maintenance, west to Research Division |
Science |
The Toxins Mixing consists of three facilities, they are (from port to starboard): Toxins Storage, Toxins Lab, Toxins Launch Room and Toxins Test Chamber. This page will provide information about the first three.
Toxins Storage
The storage room requires Toxins Lab access to enter, and is secured safely in its own room across the hallway to the lab. As toxin leaks from this room are very dangerous and difficult to clean out, the room is equipped with two high-powered air scrubbers (that need to be turned on to use).
This room stores canisters holding a few different gases, most of which will prove to be useful in bomb making:
- Five plasma canisters
- Four oxygen canisters
- Two N2O canisters
- Two CO2 canisters
Toxins Lab
This lab focuses on exploring the possibilities of plasma gas, typically in the form of massive explosions. Bomb making is not all that easy though, as the Toxins Research Lab is really prone to outbursts of plasma, fire, plasma that's on fire, or even plasma that's on fire and spreading N2O.
It is equipped with an assortment of bomb-making tools:
- A gas mixing chamber
- Freezers and heaters, as well as a connector port leading to space
- Four signalers
- Three health sensors
- Three voice analyzers
- Four proximity sensors
- Six tank transfer valves
- Four timers
- Four igniters
- A tank dispenser, containing ten oxygen tanks and plasma tanks
- An atmospherics simulator console
- The Lavaland Artillery Mainframe
Toxin Laboratory Procedure
A checklist for new toxins workers.
- Wear internals at all times
- Wear the outfit provided in the EOD (Explosive ordinance disposal) closet when dealing with explosives
- Ensure that no dangerous gas escapes to the station.
- Release all used gas into space when done.
- Get a decontamination and medical examination once done.
Launch Room
Attached to the east of the lab is the Launch Room, where you can use a mass driver to send bombs to the Toxins Test Chamber. The EOD closet is located here. There is a monitor on the window that will allow you to view the Toxins Test Chamber without having to leave the room.
