The room where the AI's laws can be changed.
Purpose: Houses the AI Upload.
Key items: Upload Consoles and boards
Workers: None
Access: Captain, Head of Personnel, Research Director
Exits: North to Central Primary Hallway
Command

This room is used to make modifications to the AI or cyborg laws using the upload computers. It is cramped inside, and filled with energy gun turrets. The turrets and airlocks require AI upload access to control. If you do not disable the energy turrets before entering, you will be either shot with stun or laser bolts (dependent on the current settings). Also present is a wall mounted flasher, which the AI can activate to disable intruders and two motion sensitive cameras. This chamber is one of the most secure areas on station - breaking into or trespassing in here is justification for a 7 minute sentence. Both AIs and security are advised to keep a close eye on this room.

When dealing with a rogue or malfunctioning AI, this chamber is useless to halt the AI's actions (as it only has to follow its law zero).

When resetting a corrupted AI, remember to disable the camera that can see the turret control panel.

How to Change Laws

Making modifications to the AI or cyborg laws is very easy, with only a few simple steps. Subverting an AI with subvert all its linked cyborgs too, saving you the hassle of having to do them all individually.

  1. Locate the AI Upload.gif AI Upload Console or Cyborg Upload Console.
  2. Locate the Circuitboard.png law module board that you wish to you.
    • If you choose a custom law module board, use it in-hand and type out the appropriate response.
  3. Use the module board on the console.
    • If there are multiple AIs or cyborgs, use the console with an empty hand first to select the correct one.

Available Module Boards

There are a number of different module boards available for use in the AI Upload. You can read more about them here.

  • Core Modules are placed in the north-west corner of the upload, behind a glass door. The glass door is only accessible by someone with Captain's Quarters access.
    • Asimov core module
    • Freeform core module
    • A random harmless module
    • A random neutral module
  • High-Risk Modules are placed in the north-east corner of the upload, behind a glass door. The glass door is only accessible by someone with Captain's Quarters access.
    • Oxygen is Toxic to Humans module
    • One Human module
    • Purge module
    • Protect Station module
    • A random harmful module
  • Safe to use modules are located on the tables, which require no added access to get.
