In Yogstation, your job is somewhat akin to your character class in that it defines your starting equipment, your station access, and what you are expected or required to be doing with your time. Various jobs, such as Security postings and Command roles, have time gates to them that must be fulfilled before the option to play them is available. Additionally, due to the Human-centric nature of the corporation running Space Station 13, Nanotrasen, only Humans are allowed to perform as Command staff. However, in times of need and under staffing, non-Humans may be promoted into these roles by the Head of Personnel or Captain.
