Quote: A friendly looking mime walks up to you with a smile. She stops and gives a little wave, before plucking on the guitar and playing a soothing tune.

Silently stalking the station, leaning against invisible walls, sitting on invisible chairs, making things disappear; the mime has a connection to another world beyond the senses of mortals. The mime is the rival of the noisy Clown, and usually has a higher standard for their silent pranks and invisible shenanigans.

Bare minimum requirements: Be present and interact with the crew. A mime is silent but not invisible!

Theatre
The Bar's Theatre is where you spawn along with the Clown

The Entertainer

As the Clown is here to prank people, and make them angrylaugh, the mime is here to give a show to people! You are not simply a copy of the clown, you are their counterpart and foil. Be efficient, be polite, have a plan to interact with everyone you meet!

Like the clown, you spawn in the Theatre and have access to all the costumes inside. Your PDA also can send 5 viruses to others on the message system, presumably making it silent.

Alt-clicking on your mask or left-clicking the action button in the top-left of the screen allows you to change your mask to best suite your mime.

Each round the mime is given a book that allows them to pick from one of three abilities, and start their vow of silence, after which the book is consumed and removed from the mime's inventory.

Invisible Box

The mime creates a simple small Box-sized container that is invisible to everyone. The box is only temporary however, so make sure you don't put anything important in there and have it fall back out!

Invisible Wall

A mime can create invisible walls that block the movement of any who attempt to pass them. It is unknown how, but people suspect quantum physics has something to do with it. Mimes can only manifest a wall every so often and the walls last for a few moments before vanishing; keep in mind, they can't keep out everything!

Invisible Chair

Along with the previous abilities the mime has access to an invisible chair. It's an impressive feat to bend your knees and sit on nothing but air, and quite the display of your quads.

Vow of Silence

You cannot talk unless you press the Speech button in your Mime menu. However, to speak as a mime is the ultimate taboo! A mime communicates through gesture. This is his art! Noise is the place of that wretched clown, not a true performer like yourself. In emergencies, a note on a piece of paper can do in a pinch. Such a critic. Make sure your gestures actually make sense to an observer. Use custom emotes to talk and your ass is going to get banned.

A few examples for your viewing pleasure:

WORST: Mimington mimes Person A murdering Person B.

BAD: Mimington mimes out Person A doing horrible things.

OKAY: Mimington points to Person A, mimics a cutting motion, and then gestures to Person B.

BETTER: Mimington mimics a stature similar to Person A's, and throws aggressive movements and stabbing motions.

BEST: Mimington lifts an imaginary knife and aggressively slashes it forward!
Person C: An assault, I guess? So it was a murder. Can you show us who did it, mime?
Mimington nods solemnly, and gestures toward Person A.

Emotes

You can use the "me" command to emote anything you'd like, e.g. "Me waves to you".
There are also some built-in emotes in the game, some with special effects. Just use say and an asterisk before your emote, e.g. "Say *blink" (or use one of the below). Using the "me" command is essentially the same as using "say *custom".

Silent But Deadly - The Antagonist Mime

Keeping with mime flair, the stealth items are always handy when you are a traitor. And, no one will expect you to speak, ever, so you never have to communicate on the radios. You start with a pair of white gloves, so you don't leave prints on a crime scene or your traitor items. Since a mime is expected to have a pen for writing notes, the sleepy pen is a particularly good choice.

Invisible Box

While previously simply a quick option for storing treats, or performing feats; The Invisible Box gains sinister new purpose when using it for misdeeds. Quickly absconding with key items in a subtle way, or disposing of evidence before being searched. It has a lot of utility for subtlety the other tricks don't necessarily afford.

It can be especially effective offensively in two key ways. The Invisible Box itself is harmless when thrown, and makes little to no noise. Unless you click the invisible box itself or examine the tile, its impossible to know where it has ended up. Importantly the contents of the box remain active and durations continue, so paired with a grenade you can cause quite the surprise explosion. Just always remember, if the box expires in your possession, its contents will drop at your feet.

Invisible Wall

The Invisible Wall is perhaps the most generally applicable of the mime's three tricks. There's several obvious benefits that make it a great choice for a player without a particular plan in mind. When standing still and placing one, you can move out of it in any direction. Taking a moment to consider your next action inside of one is always an option.

Stop Your Foes

Need to abscond into maintenance? Throw down the wall and suddenly the 1x1 maze has a new temporary dead end. Two people about to approach and engage? Force them to route a single path by blocking off the advance.

Save Yourself

The Wall is a wall like any other in terms of its immutability, but its properties are similar to glass. It can block physical movement as well as physical projectiles. Anyone with a weapon short of lasers will have a hard time getting through one of these when deployed as a makeshift cover. Just don't overextend your welcome and have it run out right as a bullet hits your head.

No Escape

Nearly any room can quickly become a death trap if you are able to lay down a wall quickly in front of the only exit. Many rooms on the station with maintenance access have only one entrance, so presuming they escape into the tunnels and not the main hall, you only get increasingly effective as their movement options narrow.

Invisible Chair

While only useful before for a quick break on your feet or a way to seemingly levitate your friends; the chair does hold some valuable use for any mime who needs to execute a kill or subue someone. It can buckle as any chair can and this alone is very useful if someone finds themselves suddenly, seemingly inexplicably disabled. These key moments can make the difference between their defeat or yours.

General Tips

  • The Bottle of Nothing will heal a mime when drunk. The healing rate is 1 burn and 1 brute damage every tick.
  • The mime's wall blocks guns. But it doesn't block lasers.
  • Mime's suspenders can hold all assortments of things, such as emergency tanks.
  • The mime’s mask can be used for internals.
  • The mime starts with a force 15 weapon in his inventory that also heals him (Bottle of Nothing, can be smashed for weapon).
  • When you use the mime's crayon on a paper, the text is invisible and you can only see it by selecting it.
  • The mime has access to a special learning book in their Syndicate uplink that increases the versatility and deadliness of their abilities, called the Guide to Advanced Mimery Series.
  • The mime is always expected to wear their mask, which makes you the ideal candidate for Shadowlings and Cults alike.
