Quote: "Here we go again." - Commander [REDACTED], 1st Elite Response Team. Sector 5S-13 |
As a member of one of Nanotrasen's elite Emergency Response Teams (ERT), you are tasked with being deployed to a station in distress in an attempt to bring it back to a functional status. There's no telling what you might encounter in your mission. Good luck. You're gonna need it.
Remember to follow all orders given by CentCom.
Prepare To Move Out
You will spawn in alongside your other fellow ERT team members. You will spawn as a specific role - such as Security, Medical, or Engineering. As a member of the Emergency Response Team you have access to a wide range of tools and some unique items. There are four separate roles for the standard ERT with unique equipment, and the equipment available to you will vary depending on your team's level of response. Other ERTs, such as janitor or inquisition, may have different roles and a different team size.
Once on the station, you'll likely be thrown at whatever problem is present. Simply man your station and do the best you can. Take direction from the crew as they will generally know more about the situation than you do, ultimately use your intuition to guide you.
Gear Up
There are two rooms with gear inside for you to gear up using, depending on your ERT level.
Miscellaneous Equipment
Mostly useless equipment is kept in the spawn-room:
- Medical laptop - Useful for researching threats in order to find weaknesses, if they are members of the crew.
- Food and drink - If you arrive hungry, there are plenty of donuts to get you well-fed in preparation for your mission.
- Spare CentCom headset - In case you lose yours, have another!
- Handcuffs and zipties - Spare cuffs for security ERT.
- Flashes - Spare flash for security ERT.
- Station bounced radios - If telecomms is down on the station, make sure you and your team take one each.
- Recharger - Make sure all of your weapons are fully charged before starting your mission.
Equipment Room
East of the spawn-room is the equipment room. It contains a locker for the four main ERT roles, as well as other equipment scattered around the room.
- ERT commander locker - Contains a first-aid kit, handcuffs, AI card, a flash, a gun and ammo.
- ERT medical lockers - Contains one of each first-aid kit, a defib and a medibot.
- ERT engineering lockers - Contains spare materials, sandbags, magboots, RCD ammo and foam grenades.
- ERT security lockers - Contains boxes of flashbangs, teargas grenades, flashes and handcuffs, and a riot shield.
- C4 - This should only be used in an emergency, try not to blow up airlocks when you can RCD/hack them open.
- Energy guns - Used for disabling threats without harming them.
- Auto rifle - Used for disabling threats for good.
Uplink
Most of the time Amber Task Force, Blue ERT and Red ERT will spawn in with an uplink. This uplink contains gear and weapons, so each member of the ERT can tailor their gear towards their preference and their task.
Items are purchased through the uplink using warpcrystals (WC). Amber Task Force start with 10 WC, Blue ERT start with 20 WC, and Red ERT start with 30 WC.

Follow Your Orders
Once you've arrived on the station you need to assess the situation and contact any heads of staff/security (assuming they are still alive). Perform the role you're assigned to, heal people as a Medical Officer, repair damage as an Engineering Officer and arrest looters, rioters or insurgents as a Security Officer.
Your radio has access to a unique comms channel allowing you to talk with fellow ERT members, as well as being able to talk to all station channels. Not only does this let you talk to the crew and figure out what the problem is, but it allows you to stay in close communication with your team.
Response Teams
As an ERT member, the situations you will face will vary greatly. One mission you might be trying to salvage a station smashed by asteroids, saving the crew from a loose singularity or even a mass invasion of Clowns. Make sure you prepare for any eventuality, Central Command may grant your team access to heavier firepower. There are different types of teams that can be deployed, dependant on the situation they are being sent to resolve.
Blue Emergency Response Team
Typically code blue is reserved for calmer situations, such as conducting an investigation, diplomatic situations, or some other kind of CentCom function. Code Blue ERT does not have access to the equipment room and has very light equipment to begin with, and is being sent to the station with only what is on them when they start at CentCom. Code blue ERT teams typically consist of 5 members.
The following is the standard equipment for ERT Officers, and the equipment for the blue ERT team:
Red Emergency Response Team
CentCom's top-of-the-class ERT sent to the most dangerous of missions that CentCom has deemed necessary to preserve their investments. Their energy guns are replaced with military-grade pulse weapons, and several of their tools are replaced with combat variations. Code red ERT teams typically consist of 5 members.
The following is the standard equipment for the red ERT team:
Peacekeeping Force
The Peacekeeping Force is a non-lethal ERT sent to enforce Space Law. They have brig access in order to perform arrests and assist security officers in their tasks. Peacekeeping Force teams typically consist of 5 members.
The following is the standard equipment for the peacekeeping force:
Amber Task Force
The ATF is a Nanotrasen force similar to "space marines". They are sent out to terrible situations and provide a fair and challenging fight to both the antagonists and the force. The task force is only armed with lethal weaponry with the exception of the commander which sports a telescopic baton. Amber task forces typically consist of 7 members.
The following is the standard equipment for the amber task force:
Janitor Emergency Response Team
CentCom's cleaning ERT sent to clean the stations CentCom has deemed necessary. Janitor ERT teams typically consist of 4 members.
The following is the standard equipment for the janitor ERT team:
Inquisition Emergency Response Team
Inquisition teams are sent to deal with spooky happenings on-station, such as cults or ghosts. Their goal causes them to destroy any traces of paranormal activity aboard the station. Inquisition ERT teams typically consist of 5 members.
The following is the standard equipment for the inquisition ERT team:
The Circus
The Circus is sent to deal with the station when there are not enough pranks or laughs going on. Their goal is to do just that - liven up the mood by pranking everyone and telling jokes. Code level: Banana!
The following is the standard equipment for the circus CRT (Comedy Response Team) team:
HONK Squad
The HONKsquad is a squad of Honkmmandos under the employ of Central Command's Special Honk division! Unlike the Call O' Duty Shooty Tooties the HONKers honk on the record at all times, and deals with the greatest possible known threat in the Cosmos; Boredom. Code level: HOOOOOOOOOONK! HONK squad teams typically consist of 5 members.
