=What Are Critters=
=What Are Critters=
Critters are usually controlled by the game's artificial intelligence, not to be confused with the [[AI]]. This AI is remarkably limited in many respects, which most often manifests in subpar pathfinding and limited reaction to the physics systems that human controlled mobs have to deal with. This makes them unpredictable and frustrating as both allies and opponents.

This is the guide to pets and other critters.

For Lavaland mobs see here.

What Are Critters

Critters are usually controlled by the game's artificial intelligence, not to be confused with the AI. This AI is remarkably limited in many respects, which most often manifests in subpar pathfinding and limited reaction to the physics systems that human controlled mobs have to deal with. This makes them unpredictable and frustrating as both allies and opponents.

Pets

These critters are mascots or pets belonging to certain departments or jobs.

Name Description Location
Anadear Was used in a experiment by the RD to test how a penguin with a sombrero would effect morale. Results were uncertain but is being kept as the science department's mascot anyway. Experimental Lab
Autumn A fluffy fennec fox. Cargo Office
Bananium Kreb It's shell is made out of pure bananium. Theatre
Bap An amphibian friend for all your hydroponic needs. Hydroponics
  Becquerel Virtually unkillable. Incinerator
Betsy One of the possible kitchen animals. Kitchen coldroom (25% chance)
Catslug It seems to be both a cat and a slug! Telecommunications
Eats-The-Roaches A cute lizard that keeps janitors too enamoured to do their job. Custodial Closet
  E-N It's a borgi. Research Director's Office
Ian Ian can be dressed up in a variety of hilarious outfits, commonly found in the theater or around the station. Please don't throw him in the laundry machine. If you kill Ian, expect to be lynched. The secret objective for every HoP is to get Ian on the shuttle alive, to return to Centcom. Head of Personnel's Office
Lamarr Lamarr is a de-fanged alien facehugger, who likes to harmlessly latch on to people's faces. Research Director's Office (display case)
Officer Kreb The often forgotten station pet. Arrivals Checkpoint
Pete The (not really) harmless and mostly terrible goat. Not only is Pete a wily and murderous animal, but his caretaker, the Chef, may just have the excuse he's always wanted for making you into a burger. Kitchen coldroom (33% chance)
Poly Poly belongs to the Chief Engineer. Will annoy the hell out of you by stealing objects from your hand. He can also wear and talk over a headset. Complains about the lack of hardsuits repeatedly. Chief Engineer's Office
Pun Pun If you are the Bartender, you are going to spend most of your shift protecting him from the Chef. This rarely works out well, as if the chef doesn't get him, science does. The first burgers you eat on the station are usually made of Pun Pun. Bar
Renault The Captain's trustworthy fox. Captain's Quarters
Runtime Runtime is the pet cat of Medbay. She is much less fun than Ian as she can't be dressed in silly costumes. If you work in Medbay, your secret objective is to keep her safe, and away from that brute Ian. Runtime likes to chase mice. When presented with another cat, Runtime will make kittens. These kittens will persist between rounds until Runtime dies. Chief Medical Officer's Office
Sergeant Araneus The Head of Security's pet. A fierce companion for any person of power, this spider has been carefully trained by Nanotrasen specialists. Its beady, staring eyes send shivers down your spine. Head of Security's Office
Warden Jacob Much better at protecting the armory than your average warden. Warden's Office

Bots

Helpful bots that can be crafted.

Name Description
Cleanbot Cleanbots will always be helpful; even if hacked they still clean floors, albeit in a more sloppy way.
Firebot Firebots will scoot around and try their best to extinguish burning people and gases around them. If emagged they will spray Chlorine Trifluoride at anyone who isn't on fire.
Floorbot Normally they repair flooring on any opened space tile, but when hacked they expose floor tiles to open space instead.
Honkbot It's annoying and useless, but the clown might bug you to make one of this in absentia of a H.O.N.K. mech. God forbid if a traitor emags the thing.
Medibot A creation straight from the bowels of hell. It does not need any chemicals to function properly, and will synthesize its own using nothing but trickery and magic of the devil. If one is created, it will be smited correctly by the medical doctors, however for all the wrong reasons (taking their jobs is a popular one).
Security Robots Officer Beepsky and ED-209. Unless emagged, attacked, in view of a Law Violation, or otherwise provoked, these robots will simply patrol the station. When one spots a criminal, it will rush towards the offender, shooting taser bolts, or swinging a stunclub. After incapacitation, handcuffs will be applied, ready for Security to pick up.

Gold Slime Pools

Friendly

These are the possible animals summonable by a Gold Slime reaction with water.

Name Description
Bananium Kreb Its shell is made out of pure bananium.
Butterfly A butterfly that comes in an array of colours, no one knows how they got into space though.
Cat Cat's are your friend when you are sad. They also reproduce insanely fast. Put two cats together and you will have 5 minutes before you will die of catsphyxiation.
Catslug It seems to be both a cat and a slug!
Chick Adorable! They make such a racket though.
Chicken Hopefully the eggs are good this season. If you feed it any kind of produce it starts laying eggs. The eggs may hatch which can result in a chickensplosion.
Chocobo A tame ride-able bird.. thing.
Cockroach Unpleasant pest that squashes when stepped on.
Corgi A cute little dog. Very affectionate, and truly man's (or woman's) best friend. Will eat anything, and will accept certain clothing. Expect to be lynched if you kill one. Especially Ian.
Cow Known for their milk, just don't tip them over. Can be milked for milk with a bucket.
Crab Crabs are rarely seen aboard space stations, because crabs like beaches, but what idiot company would include any kind of beach on the station. Their claws are very strong, and mischievous crabs mostly use them to pinch other creatures.

  Fennec Fox Fluffy little fox.
  Fox Noisy fox.
Gutlunch Scavenger that eats raw meat, often found alongside ash walkers. Produces a thick, nutritious milk.

Moon Rat A close relative of the hedgehog.
Mouse Wanders around the dark glimpsy maintenances, and squeeks when stepped on. Bonus points if you can find Tom.
Opossum It's an opossum, a small scavenging marsupial.
Parrot The parrot squawks, "It's a Parrot! BAWWK!"
Pug Another type of dog, pug's are less popular than corgis, and are therefore never ordered. God knows why NanoTrasen still have those as something you can order at Cargo.

  Sloth An adorable, sleepy creature.

Those with green eyes are Broodmothers and can lay eggs that'll hatch into more spiders, if it manages to cocoon a corpse. Extremely dangerous.
Glockroach HOLY SHIT, THAT COCKROACH HAS A GUN!
Goose Most commonly known for the sickly Birdboat, packs a nasty bite.
Hivebot A roaming bee-bot equipped with an attached weapon that fires bullet projectiles that can also come in stronger versions, its rate of fire is slow and is considered moderate in terms of damage. Easily destroyable, however this is countered by being in packs or even in an entire platoon.
Killer Tomato Usually spawned from the hydroponic trays of spiteful botanists, these mutant vegetables will hop menacingly after the first living thing they see. You should have eaten your veggies, because now they'll eat you invade harmlessly your personal space!
Lightgeist Can also be created when ghosts interact with an Anomalous Crystal, turning the ghost into one of these.
Lusty Xenomorph Maid A handy alien that cleans everything it touches.
Marrow Weaver A big, angry, poisonous spider. It likes to snack on people.

Poison Bee Bees that are coded to a random poison reagent. They'll inject a few units of it when they sting their targets.
Skeleton A spooky skeleton. Fragile, but hits fairly hard. Can come in an ice variant as well, which has more health and is faster.
Space Bear Space bears can be spawned by cruel admins or mad scientists and will swarm the station, rapidly killing anyone they encounter. Bears will choose their targets one at a time and pursue them, giving a growl to alert their intended victim. Bears can see through windows, but won't break them.
Space Carp Spess Carp are an alien lifeform that travel through space in schools. Sometimes, space stations will be attacked by a travelling school, and anyone unlucky enough to be outside the protective walls will be attacked. Carp have a chance to stun their victims and attack every tick, doing about 10 brute damage with each bite.

Wasp A massive, mutated wasp equipped with a giant stinger. Its eyes flash with burning fury.

Walking Mushroom Truly neutral, their only purpose is to travel around the area they're in and look adorable. A more sinister property is their ability to warp and slow space-time MURDER EACH OTHER. Only in massive groups is their evil truly realized. One or two as pets are fine, however.
