'''Toxins''' is a section of the Research and Development section of the station. It is used to create bombs for [[mining]] or, in an emergency, to destroy a loose [[singularity]], and otherwise ruin the station if left to traitors or idiots.

The first thing you should do in the Toxins Lab is open the interior airlock of the heating chamber, go inside the [[airlock]] and set both pumps to 4500 kPa then leave, making sure the airlock is cycled shut behind you. There is a [[Temperature#lol fire is hot|very good reason]] to make sure that airlock stays closed, and you never get stuck inside.
 
After this you need to leave Toxins, go up the hallway and through the purple doors into Toxin Storage, you'll want to grab 2 [[Plasma]] Canisters and an [[Oxygen]] Canister for now.
 
Once you've gathered these [[Canister]]s put them onto the 3 ports in the upper right corner of the room then grab a [[Wrench]] (if there isn't one around, there should be some in blue toolboxes in the R&D office at the top of the hall), then use the wrench on each Canister to connect them to the ports. Once connected there should be a black pipe going from Canister to the floor.

Use your [[PDA]] to check the contents of one of the Canisters, it should be 66% plasma and 33% oxygen, if it isn't, then you've done something wrong.
 
Once you've made sure your Canisters have the correct contents, use the wrench to disconnect the Canisters, drag one onto the port on the south-wall of Toxins. Then open the Manual Valve so the contents of the Canister are pumped from the Canister to the mixing chamber. If you changed the pump settings correctly, it's quite likely that a light bulb will smash and ignite the mix for you; if not, you can use the ignition switch on the wall of the airlock to do so.
 
Now once your gas is busy superheating the chamber, grab one of the empty yellow [[Canister]]s and attach that to the port above the previous one, this Canister will hold your final heated mix.
 
Give the mix a few minutes in the chamber then open the Manual Valve on the pipe leading to the port with your empty Canister attached.
 
After a minute or two your first Canister might be empty, feel free to replace it with one of the other two, and again once that one runs out, to ensure there's plenty of mix.
 
And if all is done correctly your yellow Canister should now be flashing green, and when checked with your PDA should have a temperature of about 97000 degrees! Feel free to replace it with the other yellow Canister once it's reach ridiculous pressure so you can harvest more precious gas.
 
Once you're all done close off the transfer valves and disconnect your Canisters.
 
While this method produces very hot gas, the gas is (mostly) [[CO2]]. In order to make a bomb you will require heated [[Plasma]], this can be achieved by pumping this gas into a tank that already contains plasma to heat it up as described below, but a larger explosion is possible if you have a hot tank of pure plasma without mixing in any CO2. Other methods are possible, have fun experimenting and try not to destroy the station too many times.

=Sealing the Deal - Putting Together a Bomb=

Now you've got your superheated gas. Next you'll want to go and get an Oxygen [[Canister]] from the storage and bring it back down to the Toxins Room, you'll be using this to top off [[Oxygen Tank]]s from the dispenser to your right, where the yellow Canisters were.
 
Now you'll want to start off by dispensing one or two [[Plasma Tank]]s from the [[Tank Storage Unit]], load into the white [[Portable Scrubber]], making sure it's pressure is set to 1013 kPa, and get rid of all that plasma. Then take the Plasma Tanks to a Plasma Canister and put a small amount of plasma in the tank, setting the pressure to 50 kPa will work, but experiment with different amounts to change the size of the explosion. Once this is done go and slot them into one of your yellow Canisters, making sure that the output pressure is at 1013 kPa. This should result in a high pressure, high temperature tank of (mostly) plasma.

Now take these tanks of heated gas and attach each one to a [[Tank Transfer Valve]], once you've done that it's back to the dispenser.
This time get an equal amount of [[Oxygen Tank]]s from the [[Tank Storage Unit]] and fill them with oxygen from the Oxygen [[Canister]] you got at the start of this section, again make sure the pressure is set to 1013 kPa. Now attach each to a Tank Transfer Valve that already has a Plasma Tank on and you'll have a bomb, or several.

From here on you have 5 options, [[Timer]]s, [[Proximity Sensor]]s, [[Remote Signaling Device]]s, [[Voice Analyzer]]s, or [[Infrared Emitter]]s. Each of these is a method of setting off your bomb, for your first bomb you should use a Remote Signaling Device. To attach these devices to a [[Tank Transfer Valve]] you need to use a screwdriver on them till they are ready for attachment. Grab a Remote Signaling Device click it to set a frequency of your choice, then use it on the Tank Transfer Valve to attach it, all done, you have a bomb, ready for use.

=Introduction=
Welcome to a guide to toxins, this is not a guide made by a professional but by someone willing to remake a year out of date guide.  If you do not know, Toxins is the place in science that makes bombs and or maxcaps by using a burn chamber to heat [[Plasma]] and or [[Tritium]]. In this guide, we will be making a [[Tritium]] maxcap. This guide will be in boxstation, so some intuition may be needed on other stations.


===Important Note about Remote Signaling Devices===

Some jokers like to randomly signal the default frequencies of these devices so either before or as soon as you've attached one to a bomb you'll want to open its control panel by clicking it or the bomb in your hand and change the frequency and code so that you don't get a nasty surprise.
The default toxins setup, while usable, is ineffective in making what we want and as such will require some rearranging. To do this we will need a:

So you want to be a "Evil" scientist and make bombs for various reasons? Well, apprentice, if you follow these easy steps you'll be suicide bombing wizards in no time. Remember, a Wise Man once said in regards of suicide bombing for the greater good: "'''Don't miss.'''"
All of these should already be in toxins, so there is no need to hassle someone else for them.
 
=Adjusting Toxins=
Please note you don't HAVE to do this in the exact order.
Part of the burn chamber is an <font color=blue>input</font> and <font color=red>output</font> pipe that give and take out gasses of the burn chamber respectively, each with their own issues. The airlock controls are broken at the time of writing so ask the [[AI]] to unbolt BOTH doors so that you can enter manually.
# Open the interior door of the Mixing Chamber and set both pumps to 4,500 kPa.
# Grab TWO Plasma [[Canister]] and ONE Oxygen Canister. Wrench them into the mixing ports, unless you fucked it up somehow '''ALL THREE''' [[Canister]]s should read 66% Plasma and 33% Oxygen (if you're not sure that it's the proper amount, enable the Gas Scanner on your [[PDA]] and check the Canisters with it).

Note that this is will not result in the most efficient bomb. In fact it will be about half of what it could be at its best. Experiment with different gases and mixes and do a little research to find an even more effective bomb mix!

The Toxins department comes with a built in testing arena! It's great for testing the power and destruction of your newly created bombs. If you go out the right exit of Toxins and continue walking you will find yourself in a small room. The first things you will most likely spot will be the mass driver, the Doppler Array and the observation screens.
 
The Doppler Array will measure the explosions sizes for any explosions in its facing direction. The main use is to measure the theoretical size of the explosion, which is what the explosion would have been if it wasn't capped. Now, make sure your bomb is completely set-up and double-check it, then drop it on the mass driver and head over to its control. Click on the control and the bomb will be launched into the toxins test chamber. Now head over to the observation screens and click one of them, which will allow you to view the bomb explosion through the test chamber cameras.
 
This is the recommended way to test your creations. If you decide to test your bombs elsewhere, expect a wave of security to come and beat your ass for destroying parts of the station. Enjoy your explosions.

The <font color=blue>input pipe</font> is a bit trickier, first, the <font color=purple>manual valve</font> must be replaced with a manifold pipe facing west-north-east and directly north of that, another manifold pipe facing north-east-south, attached to the manifold pipe should be two connectors on the north and east side. Finally, replace the southern <font color=purple>gas pump</font> with a manual valve and made sure it is closed. Essentially, this setup allows much of the gases to go in all at once for a better burn and while the output dumps as much as it can into the tritium canister.

Next, we will fix the gas mixer. The only thing needed to do is to replace the pipe under the gas flow meter with a gas mixer that connects to the pipes next to it and faces south. Open the mixer’s menu and set Node 1 to 4% and Node 2 to 96%, set the output pressure to the max, and turn the mixer ON. It may be worth taking the southern connector and attaching it directly to the mixer output rather than having a pipe separating the two, but it is not necessary.
Once the mixer is setup grab a plasma canister, wrench it on to the northmost connector, grab an oxygen canister, wrench it onto the middle connector, and grab an empty canister and of course, wrench it onto the southmost connecter.
Fun Fact: You can relabel the colour and name of the canister but pressing the ‘relabel’ function in their menu, this means that you can keep track of which canister has what gas and also that any canister can have any gas
=Mixing Gases=
Assuming you connected all the canisters in the right positions, you are now putting a mix of gasses into the caution canister. The actual mix is 4% Plasma and 96% oxygen, and it is impossible to explain why and what this will do as the atmospherics code is based on nearly two decades of spaghetti and duct tape. None the less, we will need three full canisters of this mix which will also require more oxygen canisters as well. The actual max limit of what a canister can handle is infinite, but the for our intents, they can only go up to 4500kPa; it is not necessary to reach this limit but as close as you can. Do note that you can use empty oxygen canisters and fill them with a mix as well
Once three mix canisters have been filled, grab an empty canister and set it to the end of the output pipe, it’s also best to relabel it to a tritium canister though it is not necessary. Once the tritium canister is in place, check to make sure that the southern manual valve is closed and wrench the mix canisters on the input pipe’s connectors. Now we will prep the actual chamber. Remember, the airlock controls broken at the time of writing, so ensure the doors are unbolted. First, we will depressurize the chamber by pressing the blast door button, waiting a few seconds, and closing them again. Then grab a lighter, go in between the two airlocks and, as quick as you can, open the airlock, throw the lighter in, and close the airlock, once again as quickly as you can. Go ahead and press the blast door button once more but make sure the lighter doesn’t float out into space, don’t forget to close it again.
=Making Tritium=
Now’s the fun and relatively automatic part, making and heating the tritium. Go to the air alarm by the burn chamber’s airlock doors, access its menu, go into scrubbers, and set the one and the only scrubber to ON, expanded, turn on tritium, and turn off carbon dioxide. This will set the scrubber to ONLY scrub out tritium, which is what we want. Once everything is set all that’s needed is it to open the manual valve and watch the gases burn.
If you’re not curious about what’s happening, skip this paragraph. For those who remain, it is worth noting that as in real life, most things require oxygen to explode and burn. As you might imagine plasma is no different, but what is interesting to note is that the plasma burning is creating H3 or Tritium, which is great for fusion energy both in the game and in real life. Once the tritium is formed the scrubber is automatically and selectively siphoning it out and into the output pipe and since the tritium was made by burning plasma it’s already hot.
=Making the Bomb=
Once this burn is completed you should be able to scan the tritium canister and get ~22mols or ~2200kPa some of that may be water vapour for some reason, enough to make a few bombs. To do this we’ll be taking the heated tritium and some oxygen, putting them both in their individual tanks, and combining them in a setup that will combine the two on our command. First, take an oxygen tank from the tank dispenser and go to you likely last full oxygen canister. Take the oxygen tank and put it in the canister, open the canisters menu, set the pressure to the max, open the valve, wait for the oxygen tank to fill, close the valve, and eject your now full oxygen tank. Next a plasma tank and fill it up with tritium just like you did with the oxygen tank, and yes, we do want the plasma that is already in the plasma tank. Then take two remote signaling devices and set them both to the same frequency, do NOT set them to the default frequency or someone with another remote signaling device could set your bomb off early.
Now that we have everything we need, we will make the bomb:
• Take a tank transfer valve, there should be some on the table in toxins
• Add the oxygen tank and plasma/tritium tank to the tank transfer valve
• At this point, it is a bomb, be careful not to set it off or you will explode.
• Screwdriver one of the remote signaling devices, it should say that it’s ready to be attached
• Attach the device to the tank transfer valve/bomb so that you can detonate it on your signal. Keep the other one on you.
=Explosions=
Congrats, you have a bomb you can set off at any moment now. It’s best to say this now, do NOT blow up random parts of the station. If you want to blow something up, be it because you are a traitor, there is a blob, you want to invade Reebee, or some other reason, ahelp an admin before you bomb it to make sure you have a green light to blow it. Obviously, the bomb testing site is an exception to this rule which we will be using in this guide.
Go over to the eastern room launch room that gives you a good view into space. In here you will launch, detonate, and scan the bomb. All that’s needed it to place the bomb in the mass driver, press the launch button, check the camera to see if the bomb is clear to explode, and then send the signal to detonate it. The tachyon-doppler array will automatically scan the explosion down and give some points to research. If you check back at the testing site you should see it is only barely there now, admire your new found work and try not to think about blowing up the rest of the station.
=So what now?=
Weeeelllll… not much actually. The note about how you shouldn’t blow anything up without ahelping is probably the most important thing is the guide, that’s because the devastation you can cause with these bombs is massive. You might be able to hand one off to the miners so they have a bit easier time mining, but really unless you have a bomb target, there isn’t much to do.

Introduction

If you do not know, Toxins is the place in science that makes bombs and or maxcaps by using a burn chamber to heat Plasma and or Tritium. In this guide, we will be making a Tritium maxcap. This guide will be in boxstation, so some intuition may be needed on other stations.

Your tools

The default toxins setup, while usable, is ineffective in making what we want and as such will require some rearranging. To do this we will need a:

  • Wrench: to fix mistakes and secure canisters
  • Analyzer: to check the gases in pipes and canisters

Adjusting Toxins

Obviously, the bomb testing site is an exception to this rule which we will be using in this guide. Go over to the eastern room launch room that gives you a good view into space. In here you will launch, detonate, and scan the bomb. All that’s needed it to place the bomb in the mass driver, press the launch button, check the camera to see if the bomb is clear to explode, and then send the signal to detonate it. The tachyon-doppler array will automatically scan the explosion down and give some points to research. If you check back at the testing site you should see it is only barely there now, admire your new found work and try not to think about blowing up the rest of the station.

So what now?

Weeeelllll… not much actually. The note about how you shouldn’t blow anything up without ahelping is probably the most important thing is the guide, that’s because the devastation you can cause with these bombs is massive. You might be able to hand one off to the miners so they have a bit easier time mining, but really unless you have a bomb target, there isn’t much to do.
