Guide to Atmospherics
Atmospherics, the city of pipes. This is where the air is mixed and pumped into the rest of the station. Waste air is also sent here for filtering.
Atmos is also responsible for delivering gases to science if requested, scrubbing hazardous air, and fighting fires on the station.
Pipes
As an atmos tech, you have many pipes in your arsenal.
Colors
Pipes in atmos have colors. Here is a rundown of what they all mean:
Red: Waste line. Here all the scrubbed and syphoned gases come down to the filtration line. From there they get filtered and sent into their own tanks of gas.
Dark Blue: Distribution Loop. Gases that are pumped into here go to the station vents to replace the scrubbed and syphoned gas. During a hull breach, gas comes from this pipe to repressurise the station.
Cyan: This pipe is called pure. It combines N2 and O2 to create breathable air. It pumps the gas first into a mixer, then into a air tank. From there the gas is pumped back out, and into the distribution loop at the north-east corner of atmos.
Pure/Mixing: Gas that is pumped directly out of their tanks go here. From here you can pump the gas into the mixing tank and create custom mixes of gas. Like O2 and Plasma if you are a no-good dirty traitor.
Green: Unfiltered/Mixing. Gas that hasn't been filtered during the waste filtering process. Usually no gas will be here, but if you fuck up the filtering somehow you sneaky traitor gas will go here.
Scrubbing
The Air alarm in a room allows you to scrub gas.
