Mothpeople have only recently come into contact with humans, back in 2522. Nanotransen officials got word of a planet with incredibly large plasma deposits, deep underground. A team was dispatched to investigate and shortly after, a mining operation was set up. Shortly after digging started, the mothpeople started flocking towards the giant floodlights lighting up the planet's dark surface. The miners initially mistook them for common pests, but were taken aback once they started talking and showing signs of high intelligence, even bringing tools of their own to help maintain the floodlights. They did not interfere with the operation despite being so affixed to the lights, so they were usually left alone. Basic interspecies communication was eventually established, cementing the mothpeople as a potential asset (a nonhuman asset, but an asset nonetheless).
The mothpeople have only recently come into contact with humans, in 2523. Nanotransen's Cold War with the Syndicate is in full swing and they are both preparing for a potential war. In an effort to land potential assets before the syndicate can, Nanotransen reluctantly began searching for xeno races on close-by planets. This resulted in the hiring of [[Lizardperson|the Unathi]] in 2521, a second class race of lizardfolk. Due to the spotty history between humans and the Unathi, they were only hired to fill maintenance roles. Because of this, Nanotransen sought new xenos to ally with. They haven't had much luck until 2523, when the Regno Royal Breed returned a signal sent to them by Nanotransen. In a matter of weeks, a meeting between Centcom and the two lords of the most prestigious moth breeds, referred to as His Opulence (of the Regno Royal Breed) and His Benevolence (of the Candidos Royal Breed), was organized.


A few months into the mining operation, they finally reached what they were searching for: the plasma deposits. However, they weren't nearly as large as initially perceived. Worse yet, the miners unearthed something far worse: Spiders.
The meeting between the two powers had a slight air of tension at first, in no small part due to the extremities of moth culture and the incredible pride that His Opulence and His Benevolence has shown. Nanotransen nearly refused to trade with the two as a result. However, an agreement was eventually met due to an unexpected turn of events. One of the Centcom officials cleverly began to describe cotton to the two rulers. "It's plentiful, it's versatile, and it's even quite delicious!" he claimed. His Benevolence was offered some of this cotton (in the form of one of the Centcom official's spare jacket) and he quite agreed. From that point on, a deal was made. The Candidos would provide them with funding and unique medical technology, while the Regno would provide slaves and set up a recruitment program. Nanotransen would, in turn, offer them cotton and recruitment opportunities for any interested moths.


Giant spiders came out in droves and started overpowering the miners, killing several and injuring far more. The spiders, however, were preyed upon by the mothpeople for their delicious silk, which was a rare delicacy to them. Mothpeople came in droves, assisting the miners in the fight against the spiders. In the end, they succeeded in killing the tide of spiders, after which the mothpeople began to storm the cave and eat all of the webs.
Today, human and mothperson relations are fairly well. While the humans still view nonhuman races as inferior, mothpeople often do not get subjected to the same ire that other races do.
 
In the end, the miners were able to harvest what little plasma they netted. The miners were then commended for their bravery in the fight against the spiders, and the mothpeople started negotiations with Nanotransen until the Species Equality Act was signed in 2550, granting them the right to work for them.

==Lore (And Also Wing Patterns)==
Lampetus, the mothpeople's homeworld, is a cold and dark planet with a thick atmosphere and unique, bizarre vegetation. Gravity is very low, allowing mothpeople to fly freely despite their weak wings. Fauna is mostly comprised of insects, both small and large. The planet's surface is mostly barren, consisting of vast planes of mountainous dirt and rock in between thick, mossy jungles surrounding volcanic vents. Oceans can also be found on the surface, housing its own brand of bizarre lifeforms. In the far north and south are frigid tundras, where a majority of the oceans are located. It is in these jungles and by the oceans that moth civilizations can be found.
 
The history of the mothpeople is long, bloody, and laced with a healthy dose of ethnic superiority complexes. In the beginning, the moth breeds were strictly tribal. They often interacted with one another, though they rarely shared a village. It wasn't until the Flammantia breed (now known as Firewatch moths) began to aggressively take over the other moth tribes and place the first king into power in 1972 -- the not-so-subtly-named His Omnipotence -- that a grand majority of the mothpeople began to enter a more civilized age. Cities were built, tools became more advanced, technology was improving at a rapid pace, and art was at its peak. Despite the fact that lesser tribes were slaughtered and sold into slavery, the mothpeople have entered a golden age that lasted for hundreds of years.
 
In 2221, the Flammantia empire became too big for its own good. Infighting among the higher-ups, a disorganized army, and a weak ruler ultimately led to a breaking point. The lesser breeds, tired of the Flammantia empire's tyranny, began to riot in the streets. The riots lasted several months, never showing any signs of slowing down. The ceaseless chaos in the streets provided the Deathshead raiders a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity -- one that they took.
 
The Deathshead moths were notorious raiders during the time of the Flammantia empire. They targeted everything and everyone from lowly merchants, small villages, and royalty-owned coffers. They were ruthless, cunning, and they were feared by villagers and royalty alike. However, during the riots of 2221, they sought to accomplish the greatest pillage of all: the Flammantia kingdom itself. They gathered everyone they could and stormed the Flammantia breed manor. Villagers that once feared the Deathshead raiders were fighting alongside them during this battle. After a grueling battle with many casualties on both sides, the Deathshead raiders captured His Omnipotence and promptly executed him via public immolation. The Deathshead raiders didn't just want to loot the Flammantia breed's riches; they sought to bring back the chaotic days of old, when the strongest breeds survived, and they succeeded... for two years.
 
In 2223, two breeds rose to prominence: the Regno and Candidos. The Regno rose to power through a combination of Flammantia-style slave trade and promise of a second golden age. The Candidos, distant relatives of the Regno breed who hail from the north, had a far more capitalistic approach to monarchy. They held a monopoly on medicine, a commodity that was in very high demand at the time. Over the course of over two hundred years, these two breeds started having a say in more and more global affairs, until they adopted kingdoms of their own. The Regno, with their slaves and their strong disposition for the advancement of mothkind, thrust the moths into an industrial revolution and built cities all over the world. Candidos, with their wealth and their strong drive to discover the undiscovered, was responsible for all research and development projects. With this research, they advanced the field of medicine to unprecedented levels. The moth lifespan has practically doubled since they have come into power.
 
The current rulers of the Regno and Candidos breeds, His Opulence (Regno) and His Benevolence (Candidos) respectively, are incredibly prideful of their race. Despite their pride sometimes getting in the way of diplomacy, they mutually agree that they are better off as close business partners. They will do anything to advance mothkind to new levels, even if it involves cooperating with races other than their own. It is this driving force that led to His Opulence and His Benevolence cooperating with NT.
 
Mothpeople come in many varieties, evident by the vast spectrum of wing patterns found within their species. Mothpeople take great pride in their wings, and will often wear them like a badge of honor. In terms of moths interacting with other moths, however, some wing patterns will be treated differently than others due to that certain wing pattern's background. (Note: Not every moth with the same wing pattern is related. They just come from the same background. Think of them more as races and less as species/genetics.)

-Children do not exist. They exist as maggots in early stages of life, then undergo metamorphosis after around 5-10 years, changing them into their adult moth form.
