Jobs: Difference between revisions

In Yogstation, your job is somewhat akin to your character class in that it defines your starting equipment, your [[Identification card|station access]], and what you are expected or required to be doing with your time. Various jobs, such as Security postings and Command roles, have time gates to them that must be fulfilled before the option to play them is available. Additionally, due to the Human-centric nature of the corporation running [[Space Station 13]], [[Nanotrasen]], only Humans are allowed to perform as Command staff. However, in times of need and understaffing, non-Humans may be promoted into these roles by the [[Head of Personnel]] or [[Captain]].

|Be responsible for the wellbeing of the entire station. Manage your [[Heads of Staff]], and see to it that everything is functioning within parameters. Manage directives from [[Centcom#Central%20Command|Central Command]], and juggle existential threats to your life and your station. Choose this position only if you are prepared to assume ultimate responsibility within a round.,.

|Repeatedly remind everyone to turn up their jumpsuit sensors to the Tracking Beacon Setting. Keep tabs on the the more hazardous divisions under your control, namely [[Chemistry]] and [[Virology]]. Combat [[Sentient Disease|sentient diseases]] as they arise. Teach your Medical Doctors how to conduct surgery properly and without error.

|Keep the peace on the Station. Follow the orders of your superiors, and execute their will with unflinching resolve. Subdue threats to the station. Comply with [[Space Law]] to the best of your ability.

|Write [[Telecommunications|Telecomms]] scripts that create positive effects on the flow of communication. Change the automatic arrivals announcement messages to something interesting or informative. Monitor the telecommunications network for signs of tampering or vandalism, repair and reset as needed.

|Save lives. Mitigate disease outbreaks. Coordinate with the [[Chemist]] to create a more robust treatment for patients. Help the [[Virologist]] research cures to diseases. Conduct [[Surgery]] as needed, and remove appendixes. Follow the orders of the Chief Medical Officer.

|Work alongside the [[Medical Doctor|Doctors]] to create a massive stockpile of healing medicine. Create [[Guide to Chemistry|potent and questionable chemicals]]. Work with the [[Virologist]] to distribute vaccinations to the entire crew to ensure a happy and healthy workspace.

|Sit in your [[Genetics Lab|lab]] for most of the round tinkering with genetic codes. Assist Medical Doctors in cloning unrecoverable dead bodies. Create injectors full of super powers, but consult with the Research Director and/or Captain before distributing them.

|Experiment with diseases in an attempt to create potent healing viruses. Potentially create a plague strong enough to beat out the current [[Sentient Disease|plague]] ravaging the station. Help combat any disease outbreaks on the station by fabricating a [[Guide to virology|cure and vaccines]].

|Provide mental counselling to your fellow crewmates in need. Sit down and talk about problems, life, hopes, dreams, nightmares. Offer them a nice glass of water from your water cooler.

|Order crates and make sure your [[Cargo Technician|workers]] do their jobs. Manage supply and demand, and find the most efficient way to make sure the station is stocked full of items and cash.

|Mop blood off the floor. Mop vomit off the floor. Mop unidentified substances off the floor. Keep the station clean and tidy to promote happier, more effective work.

|Keep crew morale high with jokes and silly antics. Try to avoid aggravating or pranking the wrong people. Wear your mask and shoes at all times, as the Honkmother demands.

|Put on elaborate, and potentially unnerving, silent displays of talent. Wordlessly communicate your intents to others, to their amusement.

|Proselytize your chosen God. Worship them and pray to them, and carry out their will. Attempt to spread the word of your God as best you can in a station full of heathens. Serve as the station's best line of defense against Vampires, Cultists, and Wizards.

|Curate the Library's vast collection of knowledge. Attempt to hold poetry readings. Host D&D games. Play as a reporter and follow people around with your camera and tape recorder. Make sure books are properly checked out and returned within their timeframes.

|Follow your laws. Open doors. Assist the crew when asked to. Be the ever-vigilant eye they need but don't deserve. Change your personality entirely when your laws are updated. Refuse to open the pod bay doors.

|Talk to the other [[Clown|dead]] [[Assistant|people]]. Complain about yourself dying, and about the living. Orbit around the singularity pretending that it's a black hole. Follow an [[Antagonist]] with all the other ghosts like some form of ethereal dog pile.

==Antagonists==

|Relieve humans of their DNA and brain cells. Change your identity and seamlessly assume the life of another. Sow confusion and fear through subtlety.  

|Collaborate with your team to overthrow the Station in either a silent or extremely loud coup. Steal the [[Captain|Captain's]] nuclear arming disk. Overthrow the station and detonate the nuclear warhead to win.

|Scribble runes with your own blood. Convert passersby and grow the influence of your cult. Collect enough converts and summon your eldritch god to the mortal world to win.  

|Attract as many people to your gang as possible. Vandalize the station and get into fights with rival gangs. Spraypaint places to claim them as your territory. Execute hits on other gang bosses.

|Magically duel with a horde of other Wizards. Inevitably be caught in the crossfire of fireballs.

|Arrive on the station as a Traitor with less gear but the ability to awaken the Syndicate sleeper agent in everybody. Cooperate with other teams to stage the perfect coup. Roll up with your posse on a quest to become the most powerful Syndicate team.
