Ashwalker |

You are an ash walker, one among the plains. The land is bountiful of prey and sustenance, but foriegn powers move to exploit your land. You must build up your tribe and expel these aliens from your home.
You are essentially a group of tribal Lizards who must craft low tech weapons and armor to fight off the more technologically advance, but fewer in number, Human (or Lizard or Plasmaman) invaders. You don't need to breathe, can't use guns or advanced technology, and are immune to ash storms.
For the underground
Your base of operations is small and humble. Your lifeblood is the ash walker nest, a tendril converted and tamed to rapidly grow Ash Walker eggs near instantly when fed.
Whenever any dead sentient corpse (such as the Legion's corpse, or Miners) is brought next to the nest, it'll be consumed and turned into a new Ash Walker egg.
The nest must be protected at all costs, its destruction would spell doom for your tribe.
The nest carries mythril - one of the richest minerals on lavaland - which helps you craft powerful tools and weapons.
Foreign Invaders
These strange aliens clad in dark clothing have begun to invade your home. You must drive them off of your home. They are armed with better weapons and armour, but they are few in numbers and are far away from home. Use your numbers to your advantage and drive them away.
Their weapons are too complex and advance for your kind to understand, as such you cannot wield and use their advanced weapons.
The Wildlife
In order to grow and prosper you must find and hunt down the wildlife of this land, for sustenance, reproduction and resources. The main reason to hunt the wildlife is to acquire bones and sinew, these resources are critical in crafting the more advance tribal gear on offer to you.
- Legions: The easiest prey, they're attacks deal low damage and they are weak to your spears. The greatest advantage of the legions are their souls and their host. The host can be returned and reborn as a Ash Walker, while their Souls can be surgically implanted into another Ash Walker in order to heal wounds. These creatures sadly do not drop bones of good value to craft.
- Watchers: Deadly creatures, they should never be approached alone. Their freeze attacks will slow you in place while they rip you to shreds. Attack in numbers. Watchers are nessecary to hunt as they drop the coveted sinew, which is a necessary component for crafting higher tier weapons and armour, they also drop a single piece of bone.
- Goliaths: Powerful creatures, but easily kited and killed by a skilled warrior. Do not allow them to stick you in place, keep mobile and rapidly move in, hit them, then move back. These creatures are a good prize to kill and can be killed by a single warrior. They are a worthy prize as they drop two bones upon death.
- Marrow Weavers: Enormous venomous spiders. Caution is recommended, but they are simple enough to kite and lack a ranged attack. They drop an ever valuable sinew, and 2 bones.
Tribal Equipment
The following is a list of tribal equipment you can craft
Item | Description | Material Needed |
---|---|---|

A respectable and cheap weapon to craft, deals 15 damage. | |

A powerful two handed weapon, deals 20 damage. | |
Bone Axe |
The most powerful crafted weapon avaliable, also needed to do surgery, deals 23 damage. | |
Bone Armor |
Respectable armor, provides medicore protection to melee (35), bullet (25) and laser (25) attacks. | |
Bone Talisman |
Attached to bone armor, provides a small boost to base protection but a massive boost to bomb and biological protection. (Useless as accessory's don't provide protection) | |
Bone Bracer |
Provides moderate protection to both arms of the wearer. | |
Bone Sword |
Jagged pieces of bone are tied to what looks like a goliath's femur. | |
Goliath Shield |
A shield made from interwoven plates of goliath hide. | |
Skull Helmet |
Provides moderate protection to the wearers head. | |
Sinew Tent |
A mostly useless deployable spring-loaded tent. Practically, the ghetto version of a survival pod. Doesn't come with walls however. Sandstone can be gathered from the basalt of lavaland or the sand pile in the ashwalker ruin. Only really useful for hermits, since they start with mythril and lack ash storm immunity. | |

Chitin Plate |
An incredibly robust plate of armor that makes an ashwalker incredibly durable! Protects the bearer against 65% of melee, 35% of bullet damage, 15% of laser damage, 10% of energy damage, and 35% of bomb damage | |
Chitin Gauntlets |
Robust gloves that protect the user's arms. | |
Chitin Boots |
Robust shoes for kicking the rolled over heads of miners, podpeople, golems, and anyone else that stands in your way. | |
Heartprotector |
Slightly robust armor. It's probably better than your standard paper armor. Basically a security jumpsuit but way cooler. |
Farming
Getting dirt
First things first, you need dirt:
- Use a pickaxe or a shovel on the ground to get sand (9 tiles will last a long time).
- ‘Use’ the sand (‘z’ key by default) to create sandstone.
- Stand over where you want your dirt plot and ‘use’ the sandstone to create a dirt plot.
Growing Plants
Here is how to grow without hydroponics, plant analyzers, seed vendors, water, or fertilizer:
- Insert plant into seed extractor.
- Right click the seed extractor and select ‘activate seed extractor’.
- Create a fresh dirt plots (see above) and plant your seeds.
- Wait for the plants to fully grow.
- Left click on the plants to harvest.
- Destroy dirt plots with the shovel.
- Repeat.
Important: Destroy the plot after you harvest (click on it with your shovel), the nutrients and water that are full upon creation deplete over time. It is best practice to make a new plot for every seed you plant. This includes pre-generated plots, don't use them, destroy them.
Making Cactus Juice
Lavaland Cactus contain Vitrium Froth, a useful healing juice. It has a 80% chance to heal 1 burn and 1 brute damage each tick. To make it:
- In the crafting menu under tribal, create a wooden barrel (30 wood planks).
- Left click on the barrel to open it.
- Insert lots of Lavaland Cactus
- Left click on the barrel to close it.
- Click on barrel with a receptacle to transfer the cactus juice.
Lavaland Medicine
Healing methods
You don't got time to bleed. Heal up and get back out there, the tendril needs bodies. Things that will heal you:
- Vitrium Froth from eating:
- Legion Souls instantly heal 25 brute and burn damage.
- Improvised bandages. Made from torn cloth from clothing. Plain bandages heal brute, soaked bandages heal burn. Bandages will heal then fall off when done turning red. You can wash used bandages to use them again ad infinitum.
Note: Because Improvised bandages turn red when used and gain the name "reused bandage" you will not be able to tell the difference between plain and soaked improvised bandages.
