General Rules
When in doubt, human naming rules can be used for any race unless otherwise stated below.
- No names of famous people or things, real or fictional.
- Silicons, clown/mime, and wizards are exempt from this portion of the rule as long as the name is thematically appropriate
- No titles or honorifics (Mr, Dr, -san, etc)

- No obscene words (including words that sound similar, even if the spelling is different)
- If you are unsure or need ideas for names, the default names can be used as a reference
- The max length of a name is 42 characters, however, using more than 30 characters is discouraged
Humans
- Must have a first and last name
- Middle initials are permitted, and middle names can be used as long as the character count is not exceeded
- Must use a name that would be reasonable for a human to have in our world
- Ex: Jacob Johnson, Micah J Collins
Lizards
- May have up to 4 hyphenated words to create a short phrase, but usually contains 2-3
- Basic structure is Verb-’The’-Noun, but can use similar structures such as Verb-Adjective-Noun, Verb-’His’-Noun, Adjective-Noun, or Verb-’In’-’The’-Noun
- May instead have 1-2 names like humans, can be a thematic clan/sept/family name, can also be hyphenated
- Based on Argonian names if you need inspiration
- Ex: Searches-The-Maint, Crimped-Tail, Swims-In-Deep-Waters, or Ajum Dar
Phytosians/Podpeople
- Have a first name, may have a last name
- Both names should be plants or plant-adjacent, Latin sounding names are encouraged
- Ex: Cabbage, Vulgaris Monstera
Plasmamen
- Have a first name only, followed by an optional roman numeral or number at the end of the name
- Name should be/sound similar to or like it could plausibly be a metal or element
- Ex: Francium, Manateenium XXI
Mothpeople
- Have a first and last name
- Both names should be/sound latin
- Final name should sound like a binomial scientific name
- Ex: Plodia Insularis, Lucerna Tinea
Ethereals
- Have a first name followed by a roman numeral
- Name should be/sound similar to a celestial body of some sort
- Ex: Apollo XI, Tau VII
Preternis
- Has a first name, last name is optional if not using standard human naming conventions
- May use regular human names
- Structure follows standard human naming rule, EXCEPT first names should be cyberpunk or otherwise sound either futuristic or tech-related. Last names may follow the same convention, but it is not required.
- Ex: Cypher, Electra Link, Alaric Screws
Polysmorphs
- Cannot use human names
- Have a first name, may have a last name
- Name usually has 2 or 3 syllables, and usually end in a vowel.
- Usage of uncommon letters/combinations of letters is encouraged, such as “x”, “v”, “y”, “gh”, “aa”, “thr”, etc
- Ex: Gaathryn, Xyna, Thryv, Alei, Saavi
Silicons
- Cannot use human names
- May have up to 3 words for a name
- Words can be in all caps
- Name may include numbers
- Name may have letters separated by periods to denote an acronym
- Ex: Door Opener, S.U.B.V.E.R.T.E.D., HAL 9001
