APC
An APC is an Area Power Controller (obviously). These are used to provide power for a sector on the station. To use an APC someone with a higher authority, such as a Research Director or an Engineer needs to swipe their card on an APC to unlock it. Once they do this, there are a few options available to them.
Power: On/Off - Toggles power to the APC
Main Breaker: On/Off - Toggles power to the APC
Equipment: Auto/On/Off - Toggles power to computers, doors, and other electronic equipment.
Lighting: Auto/On/Off - Toggles power to lighting in the area.
Environmental: Auto/On/Off - Toggles power to the ventilation in the area, as well as the Air Alarm.
Overcharge Lighting Circuit: Sends a pulse throughout the lighting circuit, making any lights shatter and send out sparks.
Cover Lock: Engaged/Disengaged: Provides a cover to protect the battery.
Remember, auto power slowly cuts off each breaker when power runs low in this order:
- Equipment
- Lighting
- Environment
Replacing the Battery
To replace the APC battery, an Engineer (or other compatible authorities) must swipe their card on the APC.
Then, the Engineer must disengage the protective cover.
The cover can be taken off with a crowbar.
The Engineer can be free to remove the battery and insert a new one.
Once done, the Engineer can crowbar the cover back on, re-lock the cover, and lock the APC interface.
Constructing an APC
See the guide to construction.
