The lab contains a number of useful items to assist xenobiologists in their studies; such as [[File:Plasmadone.png]] solid plasma sheets and some [[File:Monkey Cube Box.png]] monkey cubes. Near to the console is a [[File:Fulton beacon.png]] fulton retriever, used by [[Shaft Miner]]s to send slimes from [[Lavaland]].

The slime pens are north of the lab, and is where the xenobiologists will usually be working. At the start of the shift, this lab comes with four [[File:Slimegrey.png]] [[Guide_to_xenobiology#Grey_Slime|grey slimes]] in pens. There are five pens in total with enough space to hold enough slimes to last the entire shift. Each pen comes equipped with electrified windows, a disposals chute and blast doors. Outside of the slime pens are [[File:Xeno_carrier_closed.png]] xenological containment units.

South-east of the slime pens is a kill chamber. This is linked to a freezer, which keeps the chamber at a dangerously low temperature at all times.

The centre of the lab contains a number of useful items to assist xenobiologists in their studies; such as [[File:Plasmadone.png]] solid plasma sheets, some [[File:Monkey Cube Box.png]] monkey cubes on the glass table, along with the slime storage, slime processor and monkey recycler. Here there is also a disposals unit. This one is not paired with a containment pen - it leads straight into space, that way the ''lab rats'' can't escape into the [[Disposals|disposal system]].

 

There is a chamber to the south, surrounded by electric windows and two layers of windoors. This chamber was built to be used for xenomorph experimentation and to secure other hostile creatures, but now-a-days it is commonly used as a larger slime pen. In the rare case of a xenomorph actually getting contained, there are a number of safety measures set in place. The electrified windows, in case they weren't secure enough, comes equipped with blast doors that are accessible from a button just outside the chamber.
