| An APC is an Area Power Controller. These are used to provide power for a sector on the station. To use an APC, somebody with actual access to them, usually the [[Chief Engineer]] or an [[Engineer]], needs to swipe their card on an APC to unlock it. Once they do this, there are a few options available to them.

| <b>Power: On/Off</b> - Toggles power to the APC

| <br><b>Main Breaker: On/Off</b> - Toggles power to the APC

| <br><b>Equipment: Auto/On/Off</b> - Toggles power to computers, doors, and other electronic equipment.

| <br><b>Lighting: Auto/On/Off</b> - Toggles power to lighting in the area.
| |
| <br><b>Environmental: Auto/On/Off</b> - Toggles power to the ventilation in the area, as well as the Air Alarm.

| <br><b>Overcharge Lighting Circuit:</b> Sends a pulse throughout the lighting circuit, making any lights shatter and send out sparks.

| <br><b>Cover Lock: Engaged/Disengaged:</b> Provides a cover to protect the battery.

| ==Replacing the Battery==

| To replace the APC battery, you need an ID with sufficient access to unlock the APC itself.<br>

| #Swipe your ID and unlock the interface.
| |
| #Open the panel and disengage the cover lock.
| |
| #Use a crowbar on the APC to open the cover. | |
| #Take the battery out with a free hand and then place in the new one.
| |
| #Close the cover again with your crowbar, re-engage the cover lock and swipe your ID to secure the interface.
