IceMoon
IceMoon
IceMoon is a multi-z level mining experience primarily on the map IceMeta. It can be accessed by stairs in the mining station.
IceMoon consists of 3 levels, the surface level housing the station, and 2 mining levels underneath that.
IceMoon Basics
IceMoon can be a fun change of pace, but there's a few things to be aware of. Here's a few tips when you mine on IceMoon for your first time.
Bring a pickaxe.
The method to collect glass on IceMoon is very different than other mining maps, as it requires you to get ice from mining boulders and rock piles you find in the wild with a pickaxe. To minimize load, it might be smart as a Shaft Miner to take a compact pickaxe from one of the mining lockers in the mining bay.
Avoid the plasma rivers.
If you fall into a plasma river, it's almost certain death. These burn you insanely fast, and if you aren't able to get out of it in time, you'll very quickly become nearly unrecoverable.
Watch your step!
Ice Chasms exposing you to lower levels are a risk in the elevated levels of the IceMoon Wastes, and if you fall into them, you will almost certainly get hurt, and maybe even exposed to some hostile creatures waiting down below.
Hardened Ice
Hardened Ice deposits can spawn all over the IceMoon, and are made up of rocks that are a little tougher than usual. Inside these, you have a higher chance to find better ores, or even your very own fancy piece of plasma glacite.
The Wildlife - Non Sentient
IceMoon is home to a variety of creatures, and the majority of them would like to kill you.
Snow Legion
Fairly easy, very annoying.
Stats
Difficulty: Easy
Damage: Low
Speed: Slow
Attacks
Will not directly attack you, it will instead run away and maintain a distance.
- Sends snow legion heads after you, which inflict a tiny bit of damage and are very fast.
- If a snow legion head finds an unconscious being, it turns it into another Snow Legion.
Loot
(not merged yet)
Drops a snow legion core, an invaluable healing resource to miners and people around IceMoon. Using one will heal whoever it was used on a little bit, and will allow them to ignore any injuries for a moment and move at full speed. They will rapidly decay though, and need to be stabilized by a core stabilizing serum to prevent this.
White Wolves
Strength in numbers.
Stats
Difficulty: Moderate
Damage: Moderate
Speed: Moderate
Attacks
White wolves tend to stay close to each other, and will rush you as a group sometimes. They will chase after you, biting you for moderate damage, and will retreat once their health is low.
You and Plasma Glacite
Plasma Glacite is a very strong ore found on IceMoon, and can be used for a variety of different things at the Moon Anvil. Functionally, it's the same as plasma magmite, but it looks different and makes different weapons.
You can only find plasma glacite in hardened ice deposits and can only harvest it via explosion. Be careful! Once you've collected a piece, make your way to the Moon Anvil. It will always be on the lowest level of IceMoon, and can be spotted by following the tempered signal in your GPS.
To use the Moon Anvil, you click it holding a piece of gibtonite, and then click it again with your plasma glacite. This will make plasma glacite upgrade parts. It can also be used to revitalize inert upgrade parts. After getting plasma glacite upgrade parts, you can use it on various pieces of mining equipment to upgrade it. Simply equip the glacite upgrade parts, and click an eligible mining equipment. You can see what can be upgraded and the result below.
- Proto-kinetic Accelerator - Mega Proto-Kinetic Accelerator
- Kinetic Crusher - Mega Kinetic Crusher - Functionally the same as a normal crusher, but it can be used to cut through rocks like a plasma cutter.
- Advanced Plasma Cutter - Mega Advanced Plasma Cutter
- Plasma Cutter - Mega Plasma Cutter Shotgun
